The Russian Investment Agency is a member of the world Association of Investment Agencies (WAIPA), founded in 1995 in Geneva


The Russian Investment Agency was established of December 20th, 2013 in collaboration with the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).

The Agency as a non-profit non-governmental organization has a main purpose to attract direct foreign investments into economy of the Russia.

From May 1st, 2014 the Agency operates under the official name of the «Russian Investment Agency "Invest in Russia"». In business turnover, the names «Russian investment Agency» or «RIA» are used.

RIA is guided by the principle, which has been repeatedly expressed by the President Vladimir Putin: Russia will always be open to foreign investments, cooperation and implementation of joint projects with representatives of all countries of the world.

RIA main goal is to be a single client center for foreign direct investors interested in doing business in Russian Federation.

The main functions of RIA:

  • being a source of information on investment potential of Russian regions, their investment needs and new investment opportunities;
  • creating conditions for entry of foreign companies into Russian market, lobbying interests of foreign investors in the framework of Russian law, resolution of any disputes in the process of project implementation.

In 2014, RIA became a full member of WAIPA as an official representative of the Russian Federation and assumed obligation to use international standards and business traditions in the field of attracting investments.

To meet its key objective RIA interacts with the Presidential Administration, the Government of the Russian Federation, representatives of bodies of Legislative and Executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation (regions) and municipalities (cities, districts, towns).

RIA uses a developed investment infrastructure, created by the Russian regions. The Agency has initiated establishment of the Association of regional investment agencies (Regions-Russia Association), which brought together regional investment promotion agencies and development corporations.

The Agency is actively working as an interaction platform for representatives of Russian business community and Russian regional authorities with overseas entrepreneurs and investors.

RIA’s events became the meeting point for representatives of Russian regions with investors from China, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, India, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iran, Italy, France, Brazil, Mexico and other countries. The Agency regularly receives delegations of foreign states at the level of Ministers, ambassadors, heads of major corporations, funds, banks and other financial institutions.
